Data Specialist

OVERVIEW

KIND seeks a full-time Data Specialist to assist in the development and implementation of data systems and strategies to support organizational program activities to benefit its local, national, and international work on behalf of immigrant and refugee children. The Data Specialist will be a highly detail-oriented person with strong computer skills who is committed to high-quality, accurate, and useful data. They will have excellent customer service and communication skills, including the ability to provide engaging training and helpful troubleshooting for staff. They will be proactive in seeking new ways to advance the Data Teamís goals of demonstrating KINDís impact, saving staff time, building real-time analysis tools, and strengthening the data and tech culture at KIND.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement staff trainings and help materials on data processes
  • Establish and maintain best practices and standards for data collection, data checks, and reporting
  • Manage communications in the Data Team inbox, providing troubleshooting and data support to staff
  • Build and run reports to verify data accuracy and completeness
  • Create document templates to automatically populate commonly used case documents with existing data
  • Conduct research and implementation of software, databases, and other technologies to support the work of KIND staff
  • Other responsibilities as needed

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Absolute attention to detail and excellent follow-through
  • Experience creating and delivering effective trainings
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, perform well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including advanced Excel skills
  • Database administration skills, and/or a strong interest in developing those skills
  • 2-year or 4-year degree
  • Experience with Legal Server is a plus
  • Experience supporting immigration legal aid programs is a plus
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to collaborate closely and support a team
  • Proactive and creative problem-solving skills
  • A passion for how superior data collection and analysis can advance KINDís mission
